I do find punctuation auto-complete a fair bit annoying, though I love
it for identifiers.

Fair enough. Before you turn off all of those features in visual studio,
try them out. Intelisense and autocompletion are huge time savers, and as
software engineers we don't always ever know every single object, class,
that belong to an object, and in that case the intelisense is quite useful.

I believe my issues are related to the fact that the online editor isn't
optimized for screen-reader accessibility, so JAWS doesn't navigate the
editor's text as it does with any other body of text. With that, it's
typically when the online editor tries to add symbols, like braces to
complete my methods or condtionals, or any other form of symbol insertion.
Lastly, I haven't been able to figure out how to actually navigate the
suggestions presented by the IntelliSense pop-up, or how to select any of
its' selections, which is why I'm looking to get started with Visual Studio

Hello all,
I've been picking-up C# as a second language, and am working through the
self-guided tutorials provided by Microsoft. I already know how to code,
but this will be my first time working in Visual Studio. With that, the
"IntelliSense" code completion technology in the online editor for the C#
tutorials is driving me nuts, so I plan on turning that off in Visual
Studio, if possible.
That got me thinking about what other settings are useful to alter in
Visual
Studio to make it more screen-reader friendly. So, have you all found any
settings that stand-out to you as screen-reader users?
