Thanks for writing! I'm generally familiar with the problems that GIS helps people to solve. I went to school for urban studies, but did not ever use GIS because it seemed daunting to use it with a screen reader. Since graduating, I've managed projects where I worked closely with coworkers or interns who use GIS to support our overall project. I don't expect to do much work creating visually appealing maps. I'm very interested in using GIS to answer questions about geographic data sets. For example, I currently work on a project where we use GIS to identify the neighborhood associated with each address from a long list of survey respondents. A coworker is using GIS to query each address and return the name of the polygon that contains the address point. I started exploring QGIS, but it's hard to tell if it's working with JAWS because I don't know enough about what's supposed to happen.
