I’m glad to see someone on the list who is newer to all of this than I am. Now
I won’t feel so alone when I ask beginner questions.
I’m completely-blind, use JAWS, and have use Code Academy as a paid-member. In
my own experience, Code Academy is accessible, but it’s definitely not
streamlined for screen-reader users, so it can be frustrating. With that said,
it seems to be one of the tiptop two options for screen-reader users, alongside
Free Code Camp.
Both platforms have their quirks and can be very frustrating due to those
quirks, but they do seem to be accessible.
Note: My experience with Code Academy is with the C# course, and my experience
with Free Code Camp is with Basic JavaScript.

Has anybody used courses on Codecademy? They do have a page about
accessibility, and while I have found their introductory Python course to be
reasonably usable with NVDA and Google Chrome, their commandline course does
not allow me to see any of the output in the terminal simulator. Anyway I
have been already receiving a lot of great book ideas, and I'm looking
forward to digging in.
