Hi Paul

The ED and App Ctl codes you can read on the braille display are
abbreviations from JAWS to indicate what element you're on.

ED stands for Editable or Edit box (mostly a textbox). App CTL indicates an
application control, mostly an application on the web (in a webview, like
Google Docs). VSCode is a JS-based app running in electron, so also a
webview.

Hello all.

 

I have changed "Editor Accessibility support" in Preferences > Settings from
"auto" to "on". This has allowed me to read the text on my braille display
again. Although I have "ED" before I type followed by "App CTL". Neither of
these disappear with JAWS, although it does not happen with NVDA. But I'm
just grateful that I can now read what is in terminal on VSCode with my
braille display.

It is working fine with NVDA but not JAWS. I can read the terminal in VSC
with NVDA fine on my braille display but not with JAWS I keep getting a
message "APP CTL" but it won't read the terminal.

Hello everyone.

 

I have reset JAWS. Uninstalled Anaconda and Visual Studio Code. Deleted all
there subsequent folders. Reset the Open Settings JSON. And now I have
braille back in the VSC. I really don't know how it happened as it was
working fine yesterday.

Hello list.

 

I opened Visual Studio Code this morning and I am not getting anything on my
braille display in terminal or any other projects. I'm deafblind so can't
hear if speech is working or not.

 

I am using JAWS. I have Virtual Cursor turned off. I reset JAWS which helped
with the menu bar, etc . but nothing is showing on the braille display that
I type.

 

I hope someone can help.
