Jim:

Hmmmm, when I open Eclipse I'm either placed on the last place I've edited or
on the Project Explorer view which works dandy for me. I'm in my J2E
perspective which is also nice. I haven't had the need to switch views in the
manner you mention.

Subject: [program-java] Eclipse Question: Navigation

Hi,

This is a what do you usually do type question. Let's say you open up eclipse
and hit Alt + Shift + Q to get the list of views. Do you normally hit the
letter Q again to get that little dialog where you can type in a filter or use
the tree, or do you, instead of typing the letter Q, arrow down to look for a
view to activate?

Here's why I'm asking. I noticed that that list box is very verbal, because the
beginning of the line has extra text on it. I was going to spend some time with
my Eclipse JAWS scripts to make JAWS skip that chunk of text to the left. But
if most people hit the letter Q to get the dialog with the text field and the
tree, I was going to go onto look for something possibly either easier or more
important to tackle for now. Please keep in mind that I'm doing this without
being an Eclipse expert.

Thanks.

Jim
