Subject: poem on disappearing
Hi Jen. Oh my, thank you for introducing me to that poem by Major Jackson.
It's amazing. I love it. I wish I had thought of it. I wish I could execute
a poem that well. I chose not to try, afraid I'd end up emulating him so
much it'd be an act of poor miming, but I used the idea of disappearance to
write this, and I've been teaching an online workshop where we talked about
using traditional poetry and skewing it for your purposes, so there's that
going on, too. I had a lot of fun writing this - glad to be back in the poet
pest fold!
