Hello,
Well, this is the first mailing to the Pi2k.Org Web Devloppement List, I have
registered a few persons which I know would be enjoying to develop with us and
will be of a great help in contributing some code to the projects!
Ok, first of all, we need to ask ourselves what we are going to develop, the
following projects are open, and I guess we could open any other you whish,
just post any ideas in reply to this mail!
1. CookBook :
-------------
Well this is a personal project, I've discovered that the only online CookBook
script that exists is written in PERL and also available in ASP, it is
comercial code and there is no freeware version of it so I suggest we do a port
of it to PHP + MySQL, PHP to handle all the requests and MySQL to store the
data of course.
The comercial version is available from : http://www.nbdesign.com/ even if to
looks that the website is currently down... It might come back up soon.
2. Pi2k.Org WebPage :

This is split in two parts:
a) General presentation:

This speaks by itself, we need to relook the website,
it's already been 6 months since the last changes were made.
b) User Management:
--------------------
Ok, until now we are using a modified version of
phpBB by Jamil and it is quite excellent, but I think we should modularize the
handeling more so we could have phpBB and our New User Management Application
share a database or even better, only the Users table of the db.
Ok, first the first things, I need input and ideas so we can discuss them and
then we start the real interesting things, work.
