MESSAGE: (#2122) Database Variable File - MySQL

In creating the MYDBV file, I am a bit unsure of how to exactly set up the
format. 1) Can it simply be a text file?
2) If it is then do I simply lay it out in the following way: Or do I need to
insert other lines of code.

$DHost = 222.222.222.
$DUser = user
$DPass = password
$DBase = database

Thank you
