All the downloads they have there go to the Adobe FTP site!
And worse, is that the later versions are supposed to be over
20mb, and what they have at the FTP site is as small as ~500k,
and only as large as 8mb! Something is wrong.

Good thing I have v6.0.3 saved, but I can't remember if that's
the version I used before I made the mistake of going to 8, or
if I was using v7.x

At least the offering at
<http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=acrobat> is much
greater than that of Adobe,
<http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2_allversions.html>.

Some may find that the Foxit Reader does the regular PDF
viewing
tasks well, <http://www.foxitsoftware.com/pdf/rd_intro.php>.

Another resource for old releases of Firefox is
<ftp://archive.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/>.
