(Ed, I'm still wondering why you remove the "Re:" from all of your subject lines). I wouldn't say "better than new". If it failed once, it's likely to fail again. It's not a good idea to get refurbs on any mechanical device. Memory, CPU's, that's ok since they are solid-state and electronic. But anything else, especially electromechanical devices, I'd never trust them. There's a reason the refurbs have shorter warranties; the manufacturers don't even fully trust them. When a piece of hardware fails, what's usually done is the part is replaced without finding the root REASON said part failed. They might trace it back a little bit if any. A printer for example: If a gear or belt on a printer fails, they'll replace that gear or belt, without looking DEEP at EVERY part to find out precisely WHY that part failed. Could have been just a fluke, but it could also be from OTHER gears that have cracked, or have become misaligned because something is bent, or has the incorrect tension, or a spring is too tight, etc., etc. Replacing only the gear in these cases will result in failure again. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "ED GIBBS" I agree on the HP Printers, their availability and price of their Ink & refills. I have been using HP Printers for 10+ years. Also, some folks might not realize that a Factory re-conditioned factory unit can be found at a greatly reduced price, These units have been returned for some sort of failure. So the factory restores the failed problem and now it is all fixed and better than NEW. I ONLY use HP Printers which serve me very professionally. I especially like their "All-in one-Scan, Print, Photo Copy" which use the 02-HP Photo Value Pack about $35 for 6-Ink Cartridges.
