Have you tried the Files and Settings Transfer Wizard? Then use those on a new account. -Clint God Bless Clint Hamilton, Owner http://www.OrpheusComputing.com http://www.ComputersCustomBuilt.com ----- Original Message ----- From: "Peter Kaulback" A friend tried to move her daughters user directory by copy and pasting but XP protested preventing her from being able to log into it. It is viewable through Explorer but the user account doesn't work. So I thought a drawn out method would be to create a new user with the same security and copy her profile into that, then delete her old profile and re-create it again. Then copy her profile back into her newly created account. Is this too much? Is there an easier approach? The system is XP Pro SP2.
