Rich,
I thought you would apprecite this... I know this is not something you have to
worry about as there was no building on your new property..but read this..and
just say...'Thank You God!" lol!

This was written in response to a note I sent in to a list..where someone had
been going nuts trying to find out why they had no sound on thier computer..and
after weeks of being pissed...and following wires... and rechecking they
discovered they had a mute button on their pc and had pushed that...lol!

I had written in and said not to be so embarrassed..we all do stuff.. we are
all too human.... I had blocked messeages I sent to MYSELF! duh! lol!

Hugs,
Rose

Rose, indeed, we are all human (so far <g>), my neighbor is building an
addition to his home and assured the contractors there was nothing buried
in his yard. There was- our power. That was the first to go. Trying not to
be red faced, he gave the go ahead for the contractor to continue- next,
our telephone lines. They stopped to repair the telephone lines.
Construction continues- and the alarm system fails. There was an officer
with gun drawn trying to get me to be quite and come outside. That was
done. Finally the contractor asked my neighbor in +writing+ if there was
anything else, and again he said no. The tv cable was pulled out. <laughing?>

They repaired all that. I made a joke that he must be getting close to the
water line or sewer line. Yep, they cut both of those. After that was
repaired, I decided we could relax. That was everything.

Wrong. They cut the gas line. (Talk about a gas repairman arriving with
speed, I think he arrived in two minutes!) The contractor and police
evacuated a 7 home radius. I went over to rub it in. His wife answered and
told me her husband was hiding. She let me in and I went to his office. His
face was oh, so RED. Redder now that he saw me looking at him. He could
barely say: "I'm sorry" this time around. His wife told him "Serves you
right, dear, for not checking before you told them all was ok." "But, that
is just it. I did check. Here is the letter from the city saying nothing is
buried in our yard." For a while there, I think the contractor was
seriously considering dropping this guy for a customer!

Oh well, the good thing out of this is we now know where everything is buried!
