Hi Mike
The offending update that screws my XP system is:
Security Update for Windows XP (kb951748).
It is part of the notification I am given by the appearance of the little
shield when you shut down and it will update unless you click on the indicated
verbiage in the shut down message box.
I have checked the box on the update message box that says I do not want to
every be notified of this update again. Hope that gets rid of it continently
have the update and shield hanging around all the time.
