How long will an unpatched XP PC survive on the Internet?
If you connect an unpatched Windows XP computer to the Internet, how long
will it take before it's infected with malware or attacked by a hacker?
According to this article, anywhere from five minutes to 16 hours. Either
way, it takes less than a day of "running bare" before you're "owned." Read
