Hello again,

I've used that Safe Mode shortcut with no problems (Windows
98) as follows:

1. Use IconSaver (or a similar program) to save the positions
of the desktop icons
2. Right click your desktop and choose New>Shortcut
3. In the command line enter: "WIN.COM /D:M" (sans quotes and
note the space between com and /)
4. Click Next and rename it "Safe Mode"
5. Click Next and choose and icon (traffic light)
6. Click Finish.
7. Right click the new shortcut and go to Properties.
8. Click the Program tab, click the Advanced tab.
9. Put a check mark next to "MS-DOS mode"
10. Remove the check mark from "Warn before entering MS-DOS
mode"
11. Click OK, OK
12. Put the icon someplace in your Start menu (you might have
to again rename it)
13. Return to IconSaver and restore your desktop icons to your
preferred positions.

I'm just wondering why some should be having problems with it
... Harold
