Before you do that, try booting to safe mode, uninstall the drivers for all
the CD-ROMS, then do a normal reboot and let Windows "find" the "new"
hardware and install the drivers.

If that doesn't fix it then try to clean it or just go buy a new one... they
are so cheap, even a DVD+/- R +/-RW can be had for less than a C-note.
