I could not find anything at that link to tell me the video card did NOT use system memory and because it is an integrated card it most likely uses system memory... up to possibly 256MB. The +, -, DL and RAM are all types of DVD discs. DL is dual layer and holds twice as much as a nornal DVD. All computers I have seen lately that have a DVD burner, can burn all but the RAM discs and some can even burn those. With your interest in movie editing I would either upgrade to a DVD Burner capable of +, -, and DL or plan to add an external one at your first opportunity (cost is about 100 bucks or less at Wal_mart). I don't know anything about DVD-RAM discs and what I read at Wikipedia and webopedia did not give me the confidence to talk about them here. I hope someone here will chime in on that topic. Also, if you expect your movie editing to get more and more intensive you should have at least 2GB of RAM and have a motherboard that will allow you to upgrade to as much as 4GB. Of course, by the time you need 4GB of RAM, new editing technology will have been developed and you will actuall need 8 GB instead... but you wanted a good excuse to buy a new computer anyway. :-)) Don ----- Original Message ----- From: "cristy" <poppy0206@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, April 11, 2007 1:10 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: buying new computer, how about this deal? > Hi Don, > > Yes, I was wondering about the memory and whether I could even later > upgrade > to more memory on it.
