Thoth I will load up FP and see what it will do now, if it isn't better than when I started way back when them it will be dumped again. I believe learning the code is definitely the way to go. It definitely gives you much more control over a page or site. And, if you have the time, learning the code as opposed to a design program is definitely better, IMO. However, there's incredibly designed professional sites out there where the authors know nothing more than FP or Dreamweaver or whatever other WYSIWYG editor they may be using. Your ago, using these programs sucked because of so many incompatibility problems with all the different browsers. Times have changed, though, and all these packages, FP included have come a long way into finally being considered a true professional's tool. I used to only design with HTML. But, like other webmasters out there, I started lacking the time, so I started using FP and Dreamweaver just a little, then more and finally A LOT more. I stopped using Dreamweaver only because I found FP to be easier to learn. Now... I develop my pages using FP, but I always do tweaks manually in the code, for browser compatibility issues. But, I agree with you. Learning the code is definitely the better way (or at least, as far as an opinion counts, its what I believe). If you have the time and patience to learn it (which isn't hard, btw) definitely learn the code and program with the code. ---Troth --- Hank's outgoing mail is certified as Virus Free as can be Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
