Joyce,

I have my Outlook Express set to send all messages in plain text.

If I choose to use a stationery, that changes the settings automatically.
You can test this by changing your settings (OE - Tools - Options and put
the dot in the send plain text) and apply and press ok.

Then, click on the tab to send new mail and then choose select stationery.
This will take you to the choices that came with OE...(and any others you
may have added.) Choose one and send yourself an email.

I have had mine set this way for years. Then, I do not have to worry about
how things will look in groups like this one that only allows plain text and
I can use my stationery any time I want to.

Hope this helps...

I use stationery from thundercloud.net and got a notice from them in their
newsletter that some settings need to be changed in order to use their
stationery. I made all of the changes. One of them was to uncheck " read
all messages in plain text" and another was to check HTML in the Mail
Sending Format.
My question for the group is this: Does this make my messages to you on
freelists look different or act different in any way? I do like to use
stationery once in a while but sure don't want to mess up the messages that
I post here.
