I don't have a firewall installed, though I am going through a router.
It's my understanding that the router has some sort of physical
firewall. These are the settings I chose for WinMX:

Connection Type: Make a Secondary Connection
Outgoing TCP Connections: Don't use a proxy server (connect directly)
Incoming TCP Connections: Unable to accept incoming TCP Connections
In/Out UDP Packets: Unable to send or receive UDP datagrams on any port
Host Name resolution: Use operating system to resolve host names

I used those settings because I am running a home network, on a local
domain.

Sorry to hear about the queues. When I was able to connect, which was
not too long ago, I was able to get about everything I wanted.

Are you trying to connect through a firewall??

If you are, make sure you are gving the firewall permission for it to
connect.

If thats not it, uninstall and re-install it..That said, i find WinMX is
next to useless these days as the queues for even unpopular stuff are
crazy

Cheers

Andy
