That thing attacked his games???  How insidious!

Assuming any support files they need are still present on the system, he can 
replace the missing files by copying them from any other system running the 
same version of Windows.  Wherever they're found on the working system is 
exactly where they need to be placed on his.  Note that this only applies to 
games that originally came with the OS.
