Did what you suggested -- nothing in PSP 9 or registry. Judith __________________ Judith, Open up Paint Shop Pro and go through all of the Options/Settings/Preferences to see if anything in there points to this folder (or to either of those two alphanumeric strings). The folder may be locked by the program that created it, provided some part of that program is running all the time (and you most likely would not find it showing in the Notification Area (near the system clock)). If you find something, report back so we can do a little research on it. If you don't find anything like that, those two strings of numbers & letters are registry codes (Class ID's) for something attached (or formerly attached) to your system. Open up the Registry editor (Start > Run > type 'regedit' (no quotes) > press Enter) and then go to Edit > Find and type in (or Copy/Paste in) the first of those two alphanumeric strings and then click on the Find button. If anything comes up (neither struck a hit on my own system), investigate the left pane branch (any folders (they're actually called keys) inside the one it finds) using only your arrow keys. If you get movement in the right pane instead (up & down arrow keys select different lines in the right pane), do an ALT + TAB to shift attention to the left pane and try again. Hopefully, you'll see something with a program name or the location of a file on your hard drive that can be investigated (go to the location, find the file and look at the Property sheet > Version, if available). Even if nothing is found, repeat the process for the second alphanumeric string. If none of these ideas bears any fruit, we'll just be back to where we were before you posted. Oh, and sorry for all of the parenthesis. Seems I had a lot of clarifying to do in this one. lol Peace, GMan "The only dumb questions are the ones that are never asked!" ----- Original Message ----- From: "Judith/agoodread.com" <jtb@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, September 26, 2007 10:00 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Strange Folder Created -- GMan > Awhile back we were trying to fix my jumping folder when I > open > My Computer.
