I sure do not remember all this fuss over SP 1 which also had some minor compatibility problems. If you do not remember downloading and installing SP 1, then you purchased your Windows XP after it was released and it was already on your system. Yet, I bet your system run most programs just fine with this prior major update installed. I believe the compatibility problems will not be fixed in another release release of SP 2 but in patches from Microsoft or the program writers. In other words, the way I see it, by waiting you will have to install SP 2 plus patches in the future or you can install SP 2 now and perhaps patches in f you need them later. You can choose not to install SP 2 if you comfortable with the security and stability of your system. I think most people ware not comfortable.
