Oh Lacey, You are correct, after I sent my message I started to think about the 'from' category. I use it but I never wanted to keep something from me. However, I think the person setting the rules may be making one common mistake. After you fill out the 'from', then fill out specified folder, name the rule, click on apply......here is the common error, in order to move it from a folder already in the computer, he must click on 'apply' again. The first apply sets the rule for all incoming email from this point on, & the second apply finds the messages already in his email program & moves them to the folder. Hope this helps, Jan ----- Original Message ----- From: Lacey To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, June 16, 2003 12:20 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: - Re: SENT filtering on OE 6 the only way I could get it to apply to sent messages was to go into into the message rules area (where you create them) select the rule that you have specified "from a certain account" and told it to move it to a certain folder, then highlight that rule, clik on apply now, and where it asks what folder you want to apply it to, choose your "sent" folder and it will go through that and move the ones you sent from that account to the folder you wanted. Long way around but at least you can do it -- maybe if you do it once a day at least that way you have your sent messages categorized like you want? ~Lacey~ ----- Original Message ----- From: "Doug" <trycbp@xxxxxxxxxx> To: <pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, June 16, 2003 8:04 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: - Re: SENT filtering on OE 6 > But in the rules there's an option that says "Where the message is from a certain account", so it must also apply to messages sent as well. > Doug. > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Jan Robey > To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > Sent: Monday, June 16, 2003 1:21 PM > Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- - Re: SENT filtering on OE 6 > > > Am I understanding this correctly: You are trying to have message rules put YOUR SENT email into a specific folder which you created? > To my knowledge the message rules only apply to incoming mail & not out going mail. > > I would be interested to know if you found away to apply it to your out going mail. > > Jan > > > To unsub or change your email settings: > //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk > > To access our Archives: > http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ > //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ > > For more info: > //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk > To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
