From my experience in having my customers remove them all....there is no
harm in it...after you get them all out...reinstall one of 5 update ten or
eleven and turn off your auto update for java

hmm I am going to jump in with a question about Java (hopefully it is
appropriate because fortuntely have not had problems when I updated) and
would like to know if I have to have all these on my computer for it to
work - in addremove I have the following:

J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
J2SE Runtine Environment 5.0 update 10
J2SE Runtine Environment 5.0 update 11
J2SE Runtine Environment 5.0 update 6
J2SE Runtine Environment 5.0 update 9

then
Java(TM)SE Runtime Environment 6 update 1
Java(TM) 6 update 2
Java(TM) 6 Update 3

could I remoeve all the 5.0 ones safetly? Thanks - Dolores
