Hi Rudy,

Are these full size cartridges??  I ask because when
you purchase a new HP printer, all you get is a
"starter" cartridge, and the ink levels on starter
cartridges are NOT monitored by the HP software.

Monitoring occurs after you install the first "full
size" cartridge, and not before.

This has been my experience over a number of HP
printers, so I am assuming it is the same with all HP
printer models.
