Troth,

Thank you. I did go to Gateway?s website and print out the specs for my
computer before going to the store. It was so confusing trying to figure out
what type of memory I needed.

I?ve just gotten conflicting information from Gateway?s tech support in the
past and when the store clerk told me what I wanted to buy wouldn?t work, and
in doing so lost a $160 sale, I started to second guess things.

Thank you for your help,

Wendy

Wendy, just remember that Gateway has the specs of your system and knows it
better than your local shop (in most cases). Assuming they looked up your
account and/or system serial #, they would know what you can upgrade to. Being
that I've had so many Gateway systems (and even know someone who has the exact
system you have) I can tell you that the upgrade is possible... assuming you
didn't add anything else to it that might have taken up free IDE plugs (CD-RW,
DVD, etc). ---Troth
