Yeah and know he let's more of his political / social views influence
newsletter content too. He is an much of an egomaniac as Leo.

IMHO.

That was Tech TV.... and yes...Chris Pirillo was on there for a bit... (the
Lockergnome). To hear Pirillo sort of tell the story...sort of hint at
it.... LaPorte was an ego maniac....and poor Chris just had to move on to
other things...back to being the Lockergnome. He has had a couple of other
deals not work for him either...(Pirillo) but he seems to have grown a
bit..and his ego is not was it use to be..again, my opinion. (Although..he
did sound like a horses' arse when it came to Vista and his being invited as
many others had been..and I guess I would be thrilled to actually talk to
Gates myself.. lol!

He is still making money... being at home..buying gadgets... reviewing
products and giving his opinions. He has remarried and has a new home.

I got pretty sick of his stuff when he had all those separate Lockergnome
lists and different writers... One guy was young, newly married, bought a
new home in Phoenix and was openly soliciting money for his pond and
landscaping. He spent a portion of the 'newsletter' talking about that with
links to pictures and such.
I wrote a scathing letter telling him how despicable that was. This FREE
newsletter was soliciting money from kindhearted readers. It was evident
Chris Pirillo was not reading the crap this guy was putting out. I sent a
copy of my scathing letter to Chris. Never got a response..(surprise)..but
this guy was gone shortly, but there had been before and was after him quite
a few short lived newsletters authors. Then, finally, they were all gone.
Chris has a real job and his Newsletters became more sporadic.

You have to give him credit for his entrepreneurial efforts. He now has
another deal going with advertisers paying for the newsletter.

He still sends out plenty of what is happening with mom and pop and his
wife..and pets and oh yes..computers too.... If anyone wants the
address..holler....
He was smart and kept the addresses of those on his newsletters..so when he
got back in the swing of things... he already had his list of names.

Wasn't Leo Laporte on a TV show a few years ago? Him and Chris Pirillo? I
can't remember the name of it but it was all about computers and technology.
