I'm sure.  That was a copy/paste from the program itself.  And yeah, I know,
the only info I could find on it was that it was part of Netgear Update
Assistant and that is mostly because many hits on that program show that
"Netgear Update Assistant" is the name of the folder its in.

I can find little to no reliable info on that process.  Are you certain the 
name is LANUpdate.exe, without any spaces, dashes, etc.?
