Thanks so much. No it is not too late. I decided to
give the new 250g hard drive a few days of activity to
make sure Migrate Easy got everything right which it
certainly appears to have done - it was so fast I was
suspicious :) - it transfered 40g of data/programs
including operating system(xp) from the old drive in
under 10 minutes which was way faster then f-disk plus
installing xp plus all my programs manually.
I have also been following up the info on Linux that
Mike had mentioned and there was that pesky new years
eve as well.
