Good catch, as that part sure does need more clarification from me.

I paid to enable the use of Malwarebytes' real-time monitoring and
auto-updates, but I was thinking more of it just being there for use if/when
something hits her system. If you can get a remote connection going (either
through the dial-up or her neighbor's WIFI), you could easily update it and
run a manual scan to clear out much, if not all, of the mess. On the other
hand, I believe she would be better protected with the paid version of MB
than with Spybot handling those duties full time.

As for its abilities, I came to the conclusion a while back that it catches
a lot more than Spybot or just about any other anti-malware program I've
tried. That doesn't necessarily mean that it catches everything that Spybot
(or other AM apps) catches, however. I have both on my system with MB
running real-time and Spybot waiting in the wings to back it up. I also
have Tea-Timer turned off (memory hog) and instead use WinPatrol for that
functionality and more, but WinPatrol may be too intimidating for mom's use.
So, I really do like Spybot (except for Tea-Timer) but I've come to love
Malwarebytes.

Peace,
Gman
