Tim,

The best way is to right-click and Open With, but then choose "Choose
Program" instead of a program on the Open With list. In the window that
pops up, choose Windows Photo Viewer and check the "Always use the selected
program to open this kind of file" checkbox. Now it should stay, unless
Fireworks has a feature that fixes its associations every time you run it.

Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Fireworks CS4 help

How can I make it so Fireworks CS4 does not force itself to be the default
.png opener? Every time I right-click on a .png image, go to Open With, and
set it back to Windows Photo Viewer, it messes up the icon (which now looks
like the .gif icon. Shortly thereafter, when I double-click on it, Fireworks
opens it yet again. I want to have Fireworks installed so I can use it,
however, I want the default program to be Windows Photo Viewer like it was,
with the old icon (of 2 red flowers). How can I change it back and lock it
so Fireworks can't assume it's okay to change my preferences at its will?
