Well, I am "shy" about scanning my C drive since this has happened to me 
twice before, but I was always told to scan disk before defragging.  I did 
the "analyze" thing like Judith (I think) suggested before and it said I did 
not need to defrag now.  But I recall having problems before and it was a 
real pain, and I think it had to do with spybot..(I am going to try looking 
at the archives of pctech and see what I did before).
