Thanks, that's very good advice. I have to get a 4x dvd-rw then.

I found out that some burners need to upgrade the firmware to burn 4x media,
can that be the case? How do I do that?

+RW), the point being that you can keep trying over and over again until it
works on the RW DVD. Then, if it works, and you want to burn permanently to
a non-RW for whatever reason (maybe your stand-alone doesn't recognize RW)
you can burn it again with the options that you know worked fine for you.
