yeah when i bought mine 120 gig external i got a 1 yr warranty also and people had been telling me that externals overheat very easily so i bought one with a built in fan, but not larry says he had ones with fans fail...........yikes. in the future (when I can save up some $$) i'll be keeping my eyes out for Seagates for sure. i know when i left mine on trying to run a scan for like almost 2 days, it was getting warm enuf on one side that i was getting concerned, even tho it has the built in fan.
