Have to chuckle - that happens on all lists! I've never understood it! There is always an usub addy on the e-mails, and on the web site that hosts the lists. Once, I was on a list that was having problems - they changed part of their address and didn't change the link - that was understandable. The link didn't work. At least, I've noticed, that whether I delete that info or not when I reply, it doesn't multiply and end up being on there for every reply! oF Course, looking at the bottom of this e-mail - it is on there 2X now. I'm going to leave it there to see if it comes up 3X with this reply- then, at the very least, people will know to delete the links before they reply to a message. crisS ----- Original Message ----- From: ~OoO~ To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 2:20 PM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Bandwidth waste Good suggestion Andy. Will discuss it with the other mods. But, if we make any changes, I think we're still going to have to keep the link for unsubscribing, as it seems the net is always full of people who can't understand the simple procedures. Even WITH the unsubscribe statement, we tend to get requests to remove them from the list, or, in a few rare cases, the "REMOVE ME OR I'LL CUT OFF YOU ****, YOU SWINE!" You get what we mean. :-) ---Troth ----- Original Message ----- From: Barnstoneworth To: pctechtalk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Wednesday, September 03, 2003 10:51 AM Subject: -=PCTechTalk=- Re: Bandwidth waste Just had another thought on this whole message cutting thread...one of the worst 'offenders' for not getting cut off replies-and replies to replies..etc..etc.. is the group signature lines at the bottom of each mail. Now, I know the information is important, but rather than having it on EVERY post, why not have it sent out to all members in a separate mail once a month or so Just 'Thinking out loud' ;-)) Cheers Andy To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk To unsub or change your email settings: //www.freelists.org/webpage/pctechtalk To access our Archives: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PCTechTalk/messages/ //www.freelists.org/archives/pctechtalk/ For more info: //www.freelists.org/cgi-bin/list?list_id=pctechtalk
