There is a really good freeware program that should be in everyone's toolkit 
called "TeraCopy".  I performs copies and moves (under Windows), but it 
verifies for each file that the files are identical, which one might think was 
a "sure thing," but it isn't.  It also allows batch copying of files, which is 
very useful.
