After someone mentioned Mozilla the other week, even though I've never been a huge fan of Netscape myself, I thought I'd give it a try. I only installed the browser bit, but generally, I'm quite impressed. It opens much quicker than any flavour of Netscape i've used, though still noticably slower than IE, but once it's open, pages load at roughly the same speed. Lots of the little niggles i've had with Netscape seem to have gone now, but there is one or two things which I think should be essential are missing. If you see an image on a page you want to open up in your picture editor, in IE, you can left click/copy-this puts the image onto your clipboard to paste into whichever program you choose-I still haven't found a way of doing this in Mozilla, except for first saving the picture to my hard drive There does not seem to be a way of resizing the photo to your browser window as the current IE does Other than that, it seems ok-not enough to get me off IE, but thats just a personal choice-it's certainly worth a look if you are wanting an 'alternative' to Microsoft.
