Kevinif you want to If this is an "I bought us a star" deal… we could show 2
reasonable magnitude stars in Cepheus and no one would likely be the wiser….
I'm good with that. We should. Let me send you what Mark sent me, as the plan
for Oct 17 with Mary. Hang a minute, i will copy and paste.Terri

Here's what I got…. From Starry Nights V 7… and I REALLY Dug around
The closest thing to "A" is      TYC 4469-1392-1   its at RA 21 23  15.2   and
Dec  72 20 10.7  and it's a Magnitude 11.18    Hubble would have trouble
finding it

The closest thing to "B" is     TYC 4468-295-1    it's at RA 21 3 54  and Dec
72  5 72,20   and it's a magnitude 10.12
There is NOTHING else in the sky there that mankind has discovered yet

However, there is NOTHING at those coordinates, and if there was, you couldn't
find it with anything short of a 4 meter scope.

Just a wild guess, but perhaps someone paid a business to name stars after
their kids or other relatives and now they want to see what they paid for. Good
luck. Sam

Terri,

Where did you get these coordinates from? I don't see anything in Cepheus with
those specific coordinates for either star. And everything in that general area
is magnitude 6 or 7 from what I can tell.

Still looking at resources

Can one of my wonderful Star Tours team members, who has a little time on their
hands, do me a very huge favor.

Can you find these two stars, point them out on a star chart, and give that
back to me? Like on Stellarium or someplace, that we can print a star chart
from, would be helpful.

Many thanks

This is for Mary's event on Oct 17.

All help is appreciated.

Here's the stars I need to be found.

They are in the constellation of Cepheus

and what I need to know if if they can be seen in

one of our scopes, as 2 stars in one FOV.

Let's call them Star A and Star B just so i know which one you are referring
to, when you put them on a chart for me. Just label them A or B, that would be
appreciated. Thanks.

A - RA 21h 23m 33.85s

      Dec 72" 18' 6.32"

B - RA 21h 3m 28.30s

      Dec 72" 2' 54.36"

Many thanks for your help. I'd do it, and i wanted to, but these taxes have me
so busy.

So, send me what you find, in a star chart format, showing star A and B on it,
marked. And then let me know if we can see it through a telescope, in one FOV.

Terri
