Given that there won’t be a lot to look at, I’m going to bow out. Knees and
back seem to be reacting to the weather.

Subject: [pasmembers] Re: Weather UPDATE for BMC PAS star party tonight
As of 12 noon, there has been no change in the weather forecasts below.
However, the satellite photos still show gaps in the clouds moving in, most
clouds going south of Cave Creek, and the clouds over Cave Creek still look
like they will be high thin clouds.
Therefore, I am not cancelling the telescopes. If some of you do not want to
attend because the viewing will be marginal, I will understand. I am arriving
at 5 pm to enjoy the STEAM events at PVCC BMC. Then at 6 pm I will drive onto
the observation deck and set up. Between 7 and 7:30 pm when it is dark enough I
will try to show any object I can with my 8 inch newtonian reflector. If anyone
with PAS wants to show up with their scope I would appreciate it. However, I
will understand if people bow out. I will also have my spectroscopy outfit to
try to demonstrate spectral analysis of the elements in a star, hopefully we
will see a star!!!
If you are coming tonight with your scope, please email me in reply to this so
I know to expect you between 6 and 6:30 pm.
Take care, hope to see you tonight. Sam

Subject: Weather for BMC PAS star party tonight
As of 9 am this morning, 10 different weather forecasts show an average of 59%
clouds, 5 mph winds and 0% rain for tonight at BMC
star party. The weather is changing constantly so I want to send out a final
forecast at noon today. Right now the reports show only high thin clouds (like
it is right now if you look outside). This should allow the viewing of Gamma
Andromeda double star, Pleiades open cluster, and other very bright objects.
The barometer is slightly rising and the satellite photos show some gaps in the
clouds moving across the valley, and most of the clouds going south of Cave
Creek. Please check this email a few minutes after noon for the final decision.
Thanks for your patience.
Sam Insana

Subject: Weather for BMC PAS star party March 8
The following are 9 different weather forecast averages as of 8 am this
morning for Thursday night at BMC:
62% clouds 5mph winds 0% rain
The wind and rain are ok but the clouds are troublesome. However, they appear
to be high, thinner clouds. We will have to check the satellite photos and
update all the weather forecasts Thursday morning. With high thinner clouds
some bright objects like double stars, and open clusters may shine through.
Take care, Sam
