PAS Members,
Many thanks to Sam for the forecasts.
The clouds could be a prob, but we will have meteorites set up
and the scopes can talk about how their scopes work.
Maybe we can catch a brighter object and we are only
there 2 hours (well, 3.5 with set up and take down).
I agree with Sam, since we are posted in a magazine
for this event, we should have someone there. So,
William and I (no scope, just the handouts, table, etc)
will be there, and set up by 8pm.
I leave it up to the rest of the RSVP's to let me know if they are
attending or not.
We have 3 bright objects, meteorites, PAS table, and if we can see the
objects,
we have a good night. It's a great night if we can see those objects.

are the scopes. If any of you are canceling attendance, drop me a text
please
to let me know. Otherwise, I will see you there.
---
*Sunday*: I only see Sam, William and me attending the telescope workshop.
I thought i had a scope coming, but i didn't see them in my email when i
looked the other day.
May be i can find it today. It's been a long week. I got the Newsletter
stuff done yesterday and haven't had much time for anything else. I will
look again.
At the moment, if the only attendee is the one listed, the 3 of us can do
this event.
If another RSVP's, we will need a few extra Teachers.
Thank you all for considering attending the Telescope Workshop.
Have a super weekend!

Terri, At 9 am Clearsky went from 20-40% cloud cover for tonight to
CLEAR??? Also, the radar and satellite images show gaps in the clouds so
that it may be possible to show Saturn and Mars
from time to time tonight in between the clouds. Anyway, I will have my
scope in the car in case it is possible to show the planets. If you want
to cancel, I certainly understand. However I will go out there
tonight and not unload my scope unless it does look like I can show the
planets. Sam

The following are 9 weather forecasts as of 8 am Sat morning for Sat night
at Bookmans:
NOAA 45% clouds 7 mph wind
34% rain
Accuweather 25% 5 mph
4%
TWC 50% 7 mph
15%
Weather undgd 38% 8 mph
15%
Skippysky 40% 10 mph
?
yr.no 50% 8
mph 0%
Weather bug 50% 11 mph
?
Clearsky 20-40% 6-11 mph
?
Clear outside 92% 5 mph
0%
The above shows the cloud predictions have worsened from Tuesday to Friday
to Sat forecasts.
The clouds are not the high thin ones, but mid level that make it hard to
see even planets.
I hate to cancel since this Aug 20th PAS star party is in Phoenix
Magazine. But I will leave it up to
Terri to make the final decision. If Terri does cancel, the PAS calendar
needs to show it has been
cancelled due to heavy cloud predictions. Take care, Sam
The Sunday forecasts do not suggest cancelling our indoor telescope
workshop. Sam

The following are 8 weather forecasts as of 9 am Friday morning for Sat
night at Bookman's
NOAA 25% clouds 5 mph
wind 17% rain
Accuweather 25% 6
mph 5%
TWC 30% 7-10
mph 0%
Weather undgd 25% 10

Skippysky 20% 8-10
mph ?
yr.no 30% 8
mph 0%
Weather bug 50% 9
mph ?
Clear Outside 54% 4
mph 0%
The above shows worsening conditions from those predicted a few days ago.
No wind or rain problems but
the clouds are looking iffy. The good thing is that we are looking at
bright objects, planets and the moon.
I wouldn't cancel based on this, however, with monsoons I wouldn't unload
telescopes until it looks reasonable
outside. Take care, Sam
The following are 6 weather forecasts as of 9 am Friday morning for Sunday
afternoon at Bookman's
NOAA 8-11% rain
Accuweather 38-51% rain ( .08 inches)
TWC 0% rain
Weather undgd 1% rain
yr.no 0% rain
Clear Outside 0% rain
Base on the above, I would not cancel the afternoon telescope workshop.
There is only one bad forecast
out of 6 and we will be inside. Take care, Sam

I will do one more weather check Friday morning. Take care, Sam
