Before the review I’d like to thank everyone that helped me up after my slip
and fall. As someone said, “at least you didn’t fall into the scope”.
Review:
There were lots of interesting people with whom to converse. While Mars was
bigger than it’s been in some years, it’s still difficult to see much surface
variation. However our guests appreciated the views of Saturn, Jupiter and
Mars. I was also able to show them some deep sky objects as well; including
the Lagoon and Swan Nebulas in Sagittarius. The Swan was a particularly good
sight using a 2” 15mm / 82 degree eyepiece (157x) along with a UHC filter. It
was a surprise that the nebulas showed up since Sagittarius was still very low
on the horizon when we looked.
