If you have a bulletin board you may want to post the following below as
it maybe helpful for people who want to photo the total eclipse August 21,
2017.
Clairmont Camera in North Hollywood California has some 1000 mm telephoto
lenses that have been used for total eclipse in the past with excellent
results.
These lenses are very fast T 4.5 which is desirable during a total
eclipse. Clairmont Camera has filters that go in front of the lens that
allows viewing the sun before the eclipse through the camera without
harming the camera or the viewer eyes. These filters have partial mirrored
front surface and if you try look through filter as anything less bright
then the sun you not be able see through the filter
These filters are mounted in front of the lens in such a way they can be
removed at moment of total eclipse without causing the lens to moved away
from the position it is set in. At this time you want the lens to have
it's iris full open at a T 4.5.
The lens can be supplied with a lens mount for many types of cameras. The
image circle is very large and will cover most camera formats. If we do not
have lens mount for your camera we maybe able to make one.
These lenses with filters included rent for 1200 USD per week with a one
week minimum. The lens weighs 50 pounds and you will need a heavy duty
tripod and a head to mount onto the tripod. This will rent for 400 USD per
week with a one week minimum.
