So far, I've visited a couple state parks, and to see my kids in the
Provo/Orem area of Utah, and last fall, I spent a week (off-grid) in
southern Utah at the Mars Desert Research Station. The night sky was
incredible! Ultimately, the RV will be my retirement home, and I hope
to travel coast to coast, northern states in summer, southern states in
winter.
Last fall, I was able to visit a local school. And just as interest was
ramping up for more visits, COVID struck. The plan is to take the RV to
schools, museums, etc. to share the off-grid/sustainability of the RV
for STEM activities. With a fish tank, garden, algae farm/O2 producer,
composting toilet, and water purification all on board, there is much to
share.
I look forward to your suggestions.

Hi Don,
nice to hear from you!
this is an interesting question - I will ask other PAS members.
how often and how far do you travel with your RV?

I own a customised RV, and wish to construct a compact observatory on my roof that can be operated from inside. As an absolute newbie, I'm looking for assistance in planning and design, and any assistance, or referrals would be greatly appreciated.
General specifications:
Rotating dome mounted on roof over existing roof hatch for access.
Compact Telescope capable of reasonable images of Saturn
Selected telescope, and or mount, should be able to handle regular travel.
Thanks you,
