March 26-27.

Leah,
First, yes, the Messier Marathon is on for the evening of Saturday March
26th! However, the event will be at the "antenna site" not the airfield.
To get there you still exit off Hovatter, driving south across the CAP
canal. Then you turn right instead of left. About 50 yards or more on
your left is the Hovatter street sign. Follow that dirt road south past
the antennas about 1.5 miles to a large open area on the east (left) of
the road. We will again have port-a-lets.
As for using the airfield, if the individual wants to use it, there is
no impediment to going there (I use it about twice a month.) But it is
now owned by La Paz County and eventually will be a solar farm, and the
county does not grant permits for use. I have not seen anyone there to
run me off (official county types.)
Hope to see you at the marathon.

Hi,
we received the email below at PAS, and I thought you would know what to reply.
also, is the 2022 Messier Marathon a go for March 26-27? (just in case anyone asks. I wouldn't be able to come myself.)
if anyone asks about it, is there anything special they need to do, like wearing a mask or anything?
thanks!

Hello Astronomers,
On previous visits to PHX I have observed at the Hovatter Rd location. I am planning to visit again and wanted to confirm that the location was still accessible. If it is not, can you please recommend an alternative location for observing.
Thank you in advance for your kind attention to my request.
Regards,
Michael Wintering
