Hi all -
We've been using Verizon (now Frontier) DSL at RT for years with
minimal problems (other than speed) but we're now on our second outage
in 3 weeks - most likely due to rain. The first outage seemed to fix
itself before the date they said someone would show up. I'm not
prepared to wait a week or more and/or hope that magic will happen again.
So I guess its time for (gulp) Cox. Frying pan to fire? More
costly but higher speed and probaby same shitty service. Except that
cable users probably far outnumber DSL users and probably get their
service fixed more quickly. (???)
I assume y'all use Cox ... so what is your experience? Is there
any other choice? We don't need cable TV but if it only comes bundled
with Internet that's fine. Looks like it'll cost twice what we pay for
DSL ($38.) I'd like to keep the DSL phone number though and perhaps use
it for the iPhone that I don't yet have. Can't give up a number like
569-9999! Unless Frontier won't let me transfer it to Cox.
