I forget his name now but there was a guy on the old listserve. He went to the
Air Force Academy and became a doctor I think. Anyway, they were talking about
kids doing what they were told and he commented that he couldn't get his dog to
come even when he was trying to feed it. This impressed Susan deeply. Well,
lately I was hunting up a digital copy of "In the air tonight" by Phil Collins.
I didn't know it was about vengeance until I read stuff while looking for it.
Collins said the words had no meaning, he was just feeling negative. He said,
"One day I had a wife and two children and two dogs; next day I had nothing."
When I told Susan this, it set her off. She imagined our classmate's dog going
in settlement from ex-wife to ex-wife happily obeying every command of its new
owner.
I have no idea what to make of Trump's illness. I am willing to believe
conspiracy theories.
