Stanley McChrystal is a true warrior and look what happened to him.

All general officers are essentially political. Sometimes a BG will be an actual warrior. Curtis LeMay and Patton may be an exception to the general rule. Our political leadership will not tolerate a true warrior IMO. That said, in an era of coalition warfare, there is a premium in political sensitivity

I missed a couple of major things about Milley: He has two awards of the Combat Infantry Badge indicating combat service in 2 distinct wars, probably in Desert Storm and Iraq. That's
awarded to colonels and below. It was first awarded in WW2, then Korea and one for Vietnam no matter how many tours one had over there. He has a huge row of hash marks on his right sleeve. Each of those is for 6 months in combat (I had a miserable two for Vietnam). He also had service with Special Forces probably as a lieutenant and captain which is where he got his "close combat" experience and most likely lots of it. Since he commanded a regular Infantry battalion (1/506) he may have left SF as a major then had some tough tours in Iraq and Afghanistan where he was awarded his second CIB. I doubt if he's stupid but a certain amount of "toeing the party line" is needed at that level.

Looks like the "pig" reference was to his fatitude. And he clearly is stupid. Tucker should have known better than to get down in the mud.

It's such a short clip that it is really impossible to put this in any context. But, no matter, CNN and Max make the most mileage out of it.
