Regarding Northam, he is a typical Democrat sociopath. He is incredibly
charming on the outside but evil on the inside, just like Obama and Biden.
(Hillary at least was evil on the outside as well, and she saw where that got
her.) You may have seen news reports of the extended parking lot I-95 in
Northern Virginia has been for the past 24 hours due to a snowstorm. When
stranded drivers running out of gas, water and food called the Virginia Dept of
Transportation they were essentially told "not our problem". Northam's failure
to address this immediately and comprehensively was shameful. If he had been a
Republican, every media outlet would be asking "Where's the Governor?" It would
be Katrina all over again. But because he's a Democrat, there hasn't been a
single word about his incompetence. Nothing, nada.

Sorry for the late reply. To respond: It would be good to remember that these
are college kids with all of the foibles associated with that age group. The
Institute conducted an appropriate investigation and suspended the cadets
responsible for one year which is pretty severe. Is denying them a commission a
fitting or appropriate punishment? Does what they did mean they won't be
successful; officers? One of the troubles with this kind of reporting is the
reporter has zero military experience and the newspaper has zero experience
with constructive comments. How can he make those claims when he has no idea
about what he's writing about?? Incidentally, the law firm which
"investigated" the previous charges of racism submitted a superficially
conducted report which cost the Commonwealth a ton of money and achieved
nothing, not that anything needed to be achieved. VMI is not a hotbed of racism
nor of white supremacy, it is simply another university (BTW a very good one)
within an almost unique system which embraces (I haste that term) a disciplined
military environment. The resulting products of that system have proven
valuable to our country and preserving our way of life. The new superintendent,
Major General Wens, is a product of that system, and another good example of
why VMI should be preserved. He has stated that he never experienced racism
while attending VMI (Of course he's over 6' tall and is an imposing guy and
still very fit. Maybe nobody wanted to mess with him?). He was a varsity
basketball player and graduated in 1982, and went into the Army for 3 years. He
retired as a major general after 32 years. Governor Northam is an exception to
what I wrote above. He's an idiot.Ned

Our military is becoming hopelessly pussified. All of my friends who went to
SERE school in the late 1960s were waterboarded as part of resistance training.
Now apparently we're only looking for a few good girls and girly men in combat
zones. It's enough to make one cry or puke, take your choice.
