Hi Spiro - Sarah very kindly offered the swarm/cast on Tuesday late
afternoon.
Her apiary is only 25 mins away from me and the collection was really easy .
There were some people setting up a festival in the adjacent field and one
of the organisers was very interested. Fortunately I took 2 bee suits and
gloves so she was delighted to try the suit on!
I held the twig the bees were clustered on and I asked her to clip it withy
loppers. So I was able to very gently lay the swarm in the box with just a
very few left behind - they would have joined Sarah's 2 hives on the site.
When I hived them last night they were in very good condition with maybe 10
dead ones which I am pleased about.
I did make the hive!! Courtesy the workshop Paul organised.

What seemed to work was removing the white sheet and the blocks from
under the landing pad. Probably should have done that earlier but there was
a cluster still on the sheet. When I got a closer look could see that they
could get in the entrance easily and the stragglers were all on the front
or on the landing pad.
Fingers x'd they decide to stay.
